Rewarding regatta for rowers

Temperatures are often not much higher than freezing when the boys hit the water.

Cold mornings and early starts have paid off for CBC Fremantle's Rowing team, with 11 podium finishes at the All Schools Regatta.

After training up to four times a week, sometimes hitting the water as early as 5am, the gentlemen put on a performance to remember, finishing in pole position five times and securing four second places and two bronze medals.

The groups' bond runs deeper than just the water, with the tight-knit group of boys also managing all of their own fundraising and maintenance, with the support of parents and the Fremantle Rowing Club.

More than just teaching boys the teamwork and discipline of Rowing, the programme supports boys in developing organisational skills, time management and a commitment to achieving their best.

The team's eyes are now firmly focused on their next regatta which is to be held at Champion Lake on Saturday 21 July.
