Welcome to our new staff

In 2021, CBC Fremantle welcomes ten new staff to its community, continuing our legacy of excellence in education and pastoral care.

The College's focus on developing tomorrow's gentleman as well as our warm welcome, and maybe even Mr Burgio's famous appreciation of quality catering, has attracted an enthusiastic intake this year, with our newcomers stepping into the big shoes of their predecessors.

Despite there being seven new female staff members compared to only three males, the ratio of ladies to gentlemen employed at the College only slightly tips in the favour of the former, providing a perfect gender balance for our developing boys.

We asked our new staff to provide a few words of introduction as they ease into their new life at CBC.

Cheree Dobra - Teacher

It is with so much pleasure that I join the wonderful English team this term at CBC to teach Ms Pursell's classes during her leave of one term.

I'm a born and bred Freo girl who's spent most of my teaching tenure in Melbourne.

It is so very pleasing, however, to be back in my hometown and being a part of this excellent community. I cannot wait to get to know you all.

Matt Dodgson - Head of Morgan House

I'm very excited to join the CBC community as Head of Morgan House, as well as an Outdoor Education and Physical Education teacher.

I have been teaching for 11 years and am passionate about rites of passage and boys' education.

I enjoy travelling, rock climbing, mountain biking, scuba diving, and riding my motorbike, as well as a good book. Most importantly, I am a West Coast Eagles supporter.

Jenaé Fynn - Teacher

I've spent the last five years at Emmanuel Catholic College as a House Coordinator and English teacher, and I'm thrilled to be joining the English department at CBC.

When I'm not curled up with a good book I'm usually cheering very loudly for the best team in the English Premier League - Liverpool!

Hayley Gale - Teacher

I am feeling energised to join CBC after two years as Head of Science at Mazenod College and eight years at Scotch College, where I taught Human Biology, Psychology and Science.

I have also taught Science at Santa Maria College and schools in Busselton,  Port Hedland and Mandurah.

Emer Hickey - Head of O'Connor House

I'm delighted at the opportunity to get to know the wonderful CBC community as I lead the best House in the College - O'Connor!

When I'm not planning O'Connor's second Swimming Carnival win, I also play first division Hockey for the North Coast Raiders and love a bit of adventure - having hiked the Inca Trail and cycled Death Road in Peru.

Nicholas Moulton - Teacher

I'm joining CBC after spending the last four years completing my teaching degree at the University of Notre Dame.

I'm passionate about boys' education, particularly in the Edmund Rice tradition, having previously worked in the Aquinas College boarding house.

I love my sport, in particular Basketball and Football, and I look forward to getting involved in all aspects of life at CBC.

Jenny Knox - Vice Principal

I'm feeling very grateful to be returning to CBC Fremantle, after spending just over a year in Melbourne leading the transition of CBC St Kilda into a co-educational school.

I am committed to helping our students and staff live out Gospel Values in everything they do, and look forward to providing many opportunities for our boys to help create a more just society for all.

Chloe Sullivan - Teacher

After teaching for the last nine years in Mandurah as a Head of House and Head of Year, I'm looking forward to immersing myself in the CBC community.

In my free time I love to read and watch films. I'm also a die-hard Fremantle Dockers fan, and follow the Perth Wildcats and the Kalgoorlie Giants in the SBL.

Alec Robinson - Teacher

I'm really excited to join CBC Fremantle as a HASS and English teacher.

I moved to Australia from England in May 2015 and I'm definitely enjoying the sunny weather over here.

I've previously worked at St Marks in Hillarys, but I'm really looking forward to working with the gentlemen of CBC.

Suzanne Walker - Catering Assistant

I'm looking forward to getting to know the wonderful CBC community, having previously worked at Penrhos College and Guildford Grammar.

In my spare time I have restored a 1963 Morris Minor and have been an owner-builder in the house I now live in.
